How tapWEDDINGS came to Life

The Modern Bride

tapWEDDINGS started with a simple thought:

Why are weddings becoming more digital, but all of the information still feels so scattered?

Today, brides use technology for almost every part of planning a wedding. We have wedding websites, online invitations, digital registries, Google Maps directions, shared photo galleries, Instagram, cloud storage, QR codes and countless apps designed to make wedding planning easier. And yet, somehow, everything still ends up living in different places. The wedding website link gets sent months before the wedding and disappears somewhere into a WhatsApp chat. The registry is on another platform. The guest photographs are somewhere else. The professional photographs arrive weeks or months later. The thank-you messages go out separately. And once the wedding is over, very few people ever go back and find all those links again. That was the gap I saw.

I knew technology could do more

NFC technology itself isn't new.We already tap our bank cards, our phones, access cards and devices every single day.

So I started thinking:Why aren't we using this technology in a more meaningful way for weddings? What if a bride could give her guests one beautiful physical card that connected them to her entire wedding story? One tap could take them to the wedding website.Another stage of the wedding could take them to guest photographs.Later, the same card could lead them to the official wedding gallery, thank-you messages or memories from the day.The physical card stays the same. What lives behind it can continue to grow. That was the moment tapWEDDINGS really started to make sense to me.

Bringing something physical back into a digital world

There was another part of the idea that mattered to me.We live in an incredibly digital world, but weddings are emotional. They are about people, family, memories and moments we want to hold onto.I didn't want tapWEDDINGS to become just another link.I wanted there to be something tangible. Something you could hold.Something you could give your guests.Something they could keep. The SmartCard became the physical key to a digital wedding story. And that is also where the wedding favour idea became such an important part of the brand.

I wasn't trying to invent technology

One of the things I love most about tapWEDDINGS is that the technology already fits naturally into the way we live.People understand tapping. We tap to pay.We tap to enter buildings. We tap our phones and devices all day long.I simply looked at that technology and thought:There has to be a beautiful place for this in the wedding industry.I hadn't seen anyone bringing together NFC technology, wedding information, memories and wedding favours in quite this way.And sometimes that is where the best ideas begin. Not necessarily by inventing something completely new...but by seeing an existing technology and asking:“What else could this do?”

The wedding day ends. The story doesn't.

That has become one of the biggest ideas behind tapWEDDINGS.A wedding is planned for months — sometimes years — and then the actual day passes incredibly quickly. The flowers fade. The dress gets packed away. The venue gets cleared. But the photographs, stories and memories stay with us.tapWEDDINGS gives couples and their guests a simple way to return to those memories. One beautiful card. One simple tap.And a wedding story that can continue long after the last dance. That is why I created tapWEDDINGS.To bring technology and sentiment together. To create a wedding favour with purpose. And to give every guest a little key back to a day worth remembering.tapWEDDINGS

One card. One tap. Your wedding story.
